In Da Trees!

Since the age of 18, Craig Heneveld has been producing, remixing and DJing dance music. Based in Tampa Florida, he combines a diligent work ethic in the studio with a passion for igniting the dance floor. Highlights of his career include opening for acts such as Mark Farina, EOTO, Perpetual Groove and rocking crowds  at Underground Sound 5 and Aura 2010.  He has also released a few tracks tracks with SYSTEM RECORDINGS which include his debut release “Then There Was” in January 2009 and the DEEP LIFT EP in January 2010.  In 2009 Craig also won the Pure Perception Records Excess Remix Contest as well as released a remix of the theme from The Taking of Pelham.

His musical style is best described as fluid and deep, littered with deep bass hooks and subtle percussive rhythms. It’s an intelligent sound with influences from outside the strict house spectrum, lending it a well-rounded air that breaks it apart from the mould. Craig describes his key influences as LTJ Bukem, St Germain, Dirty Bird Records,  The Malah, The New Deal and Milton Jackson to name a few.

Unusually, Craig is also happy to give away his music (in an economic climate where generosity isn’t always so common!). Readers of his popular blog are treated to a constant flow of mixes and free tracks that he feels represent his current style. This innovative approach has led to a fanbase that stretches across the globe.

Stay tuned for bigger and better things for this upcoming dj/producer.
